Prayer times, calculated on your phone.
Rowhni works out the five daily prayers from where you are, and does the calculation on your device. It also counts dhikr by listening, keeps your place in the Quran, finds mosques nearby and calculates zakat.
Free. Requires iOS 18 or later, or Android.
| Prayer | Time |

| Fajr الفجر Next | — |

Your browser calculated these times from the city's coordinates using the same astronomical method the app uses. Nothing was sent to a server.
What it does
The five prayers, and the sun behind them
Times are computed from your coordinates using standard solar geometry, so they hold wherever you are. A sun path shows the whole day at a glance, and a Live Activity puts the countdown to the next prayer on your lock screen.
- Several calculation conventions, so it can match your mosque
- Adhan notifications you can set per prayer
- Qibla direction from your position
A tasbih that listens
Say the dhikr and the counter follows. It recognises the phrases in Arabic and in transliteration, so you can keep your hands and your eyes off the phone. Tapping still works when speaking does not suit the room.
- Voice counting is optional; tapping always works
- Targets for each dhikr, with the day's history kept
Your place in the Quran, kept
Progress is tracked by juz, surah and ayah, so picking up where you stopped does not depend on remembering. Translations and recitations sit alongside the text.
Mosques near you
A map of the mosques around your position, searchable by name, for the times you are somewhere unfamiliar and need to find jama'ah.
Zakat, worked out step by step
The nisab threshold in gold and in silver, updated with current metal prices, and separate entries for cash, gold, silver, business assets and livestock.
An encyclopedia to read through
The prophets and their stories, a hadith collection, and a quiz to test what stuck. Written to be read, not skimmed.
What leaves your phone
Short answer: your location does not. The longer answer is in the privacy policy, which is written to be read rather than agreed to.
- Location
- Used on the device to compute times and the qibla. Once a month the app checks the coordinates against an official prayer-time service to match local convention, and asks Apple to name your city.
- Voice
- Dhikr recognition uses Apple's speech recognition, which sends audio to Apple to be transcribed. It only runs while you hold the voice button.

Free on both stores. If it does not suit how you pray, delete it; nothing is kept on our side either way.
