These terms govern your use of the Rowhni app, its content and its subscriptions. Please read them before using the app.

1. Agreement

By downloading, installing or using Rowhni you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

These terms apply to the Rowhni app on all platforms on which it is distributed, including the Apple App Store and Google Play.

2. Licence to Use the App

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use Rowhni on devices you own or control, for your own religious practice and study.

You may not copy, sell, sublicense, rent out, reverse engineer or redistribute the app or its content, except where such restrictions are prohibited by applicable law.

3. Religious Content

Rowhni presents Qur'an text, hadith, supplications and educational material with their sources. It is a study aid, not a religious authority.

Translations and explanatory notes may contain errors or reflect a particular scholarly reading. For rulings that affect your worship, please consult a qualified scholar or your local mosque. We correct reported errors as quickly as we can.

4. Prayer Times, Qibla and Calendar

Prayer times, the Qibla direction and Hijri dates are calculated from your location using established astronomical methods and the calculation method you select.

These are calculated approximations. Local sighting, local authority announcements and mosque timetables take precedence. Device sensors, location accuracy and time-zone settings all affect the result. Please verify against your local mosque, particularly for Ramadan and Eid.

5. AI-Assisted Features

Features such as recitation feedback and ingredient analysis use automated models. Their output is assistive and can be wrong.

Recitation feedback does not replace a teacher. Ingredient and halal analysis does not replace the product label, the manufacturer's information or a certification body. Do not rely on these features for dietary, medical or legal decisions.

6. Subscriptions and Billing

Rowhni offers optional paid subscriptions. Purchases are processed by the app store you bought them from, not by us.

Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. The price and period are shown before purchase.

Cancellation: manage or cancel your subscription in your Google Play or Apple App Store account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not shorten the period you have already paid for.

Refunds: refunds are handled by the store under its own policy — Google Play or Apple, depending on where you purchased.

Free trials: where a trial is offered, it converts into a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends.

7. Acceptable Use

Use Rowhni lawfully and respectfully.

Do not attempt to disrupt the service, gain unauthorised access to it, scrape its content at scale, or use it to harass others. Where community features let you share content, you are responsible for what you share and must not post unlawful or abusive material.

8. Your Data

How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Worship data stays on your device by default. Optional account sync stores data in our cloud provider so it can reach your other devices.

9. Third-Party Services and Content

Rowhni uses third-party services and open-source components, and links to third-party content.

These include map and location services, audio and text sources for Qur'an and hadith, and cloud infrastructure for optional sync. Their own terms apply to their services. Open-source components and their licences are listed on our licences page.

10. Intellectual Property

The Rowhni name, logo, design and software are ours. Scriptural texts are not.

The Qur'an and the hadith corpus are not subject to our copyright. Individual translations, tafsir and recitations may be licensed from their respective rights holders and are used under those terms.

11. Availability and Changes

We may change, suspend or discontinue parts of the app.

Features that depend on the internet may be unavailable at times. We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app or on this page, with the effective date below. Continuing to use Rowhni after a change means you accept the updated terms.

12. Disclaimer and Liability

Rowhni is provided "as is", without warranty of uninterrupted or error-free operation.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for intent, gross negligence, or injury to life, body or health. Your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.

13. Termination

You may stop using Rowhni at any time by deleting the app.

We may suspend access if these terms are seriously or repeatedly breached. Deleting the app does not by itself cancel a subscription — cancel it in your store account.

14. Governing Law and Contact

These terms are governed by the law of the developer's country of residence, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence.
